Micro, flash or short stories? What's the difference? How do we approach these as writers or as readers? In this session we'll explore examples of all three and then write our own. We will read, talk about how to create an effective character and scene for the reader and write.

Barbara P. Greenbaum has an MFA in creative writing from the University of Southern Maine, Stonecoast. She taught creative writing at Arts at the Capitol Theater, a public magnet arts high school in Willimantic, Connecticut, for twelve years and served as an adjunct professor at Eastern CT State University. In 2011, she was awarded a Teaching Arts Fellowship from Surdna. She is the host of a monthly generative writing workshop at the WS Main Public Library.
