In this workshop, we will write poems rooted in place, and dive deeper into the genius loci of our personal geographies to write poems which immerse the reader more fully in the land that informs and shapes our work.

About the event
How much attention do we pay to where we live? What are the places where we feel truly at
home? How do they come alive in our imagination and how can we bring them to life for
readers? How can we translate them into a poem? In this workshop we will explore the
idea of place as landscapes for our emotional centers by writing poems about locations.
Participants will explore some of the essential elements of good poetic writing as we
discover new ways of mapping our journeys.
