During a WSW Open Mic Nights, members and future members read brief excerpts from their prose and poetry. Others attend just to socialize. The purpose is to give writers and poets greater experience in presenting to a live, friendly, and receptive audience. Unlike the process at a “slam,” there’s no judging.

Since its inception in late 2005, Open Mic Nights has consistently been one of WSW’s most popular events.

During a WSW Writers Night Out, members gather for an evening of food, conversation, and fun. Our member hosts and locations change monthly. Further details and contact information can be found in the Events section of our newsletter.

Writers Night Out is hosted the fourth Friday of each month.

Writers Night Out, 2018 will resume when a new coordinator is named.

Contact donna@wswriters.org if you would like to consider serving as coordinator of this event, mainly an online labor of love, though a gustatory delight! Also contact donna@wswriters.org if you would like to consider hosting this event in your home on occasion in 2018.
