Henry McCarthy says he has enjoyed watching the evolution of the WSWriters. He remembers first meeting with a small, but enthusiastic, group at a bagel shop on Stratford Road before moving to Billy Bob’s Diner. The encouragement he encountered in those early days, he says, remains today. Sift Through Those Stacks
The Annual Winston-Salem Writers Book Drive begins in April. Last year we were able to contribute over 260 books to the Forsyth County Prison and Jail Libraries.
We would love to surpass those donations in 2016, so check your shelves for some dusty books and repurpose them with another reader! The Prison staff has asked that the books have SOFT COVERS. Hard back books can cause problems for them for several reasons, but paperbacks areGREAT!!!
