The Flyleaf Books Second Thursday Poetry Contest is open for submission. The deadline is August 31. There is no entry fee. Prizes: The winning poet will receive a $150 Flyleaf Books gift certificate and will be a featured reader at the Second Thursday event on October 8th. The winning poem will also be considered for publication in the San Pedro River Review, published by Blue Horse Press. One runner-up will receive a $50 gift certificate and will also be a featured reader. W
WSW is once again gearing up to have a booth at the Bookmarks Book Festival. It will take place in the area surrounding the Hanesbrand Theater on Saturday, September 12 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Each year as many as fifteen members of Winston-Salem Writers volunteer at the booth to inform the public about WSW and invite interested writers to become members.
