More than 135 writers and poets---including several from outside North Carolina---have become members of Winston-Salem Writers since its beginning in 2005. We hope that you will join us. WSW: Who and Why
We are a volunteer-run, nonprofit group incorporated under the laws of North Carolina. Contributions to Winston-Salem Writers are tax-deductible under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Dues are not deductible, however.
To learn more about who we are, our officers, and our goals, visit About Us and follow the links there.
What's In It for You?
A lot. Even though writing is usually considered a solitary art, writers and poets learn from each other. One-on-one and in WSW-sponsored critique groups, we share our work in order to make it better and encourage our peers. As members, we receive discounts on fees for WSW-sponsored workshops. We help plan and lead programs to serve not only other members but the communities in which we live. And we often gather informally, just to chat and exchange ideas. See our Program Summary for details.
